80’s soul singer Vesta Williams was found dead back in her hotel room on September 22nd, 2011 due to what seems to be of natural causes.
Singer/producer Norwood Young, a close friend of the Williams family, has revealed to EURweb.com that Williams apparently died from complications of an enlarged heart. Autopsy results were released earlier this week, and they contradict rumors of the singer dying from an overdose of sleep medication.
Williams was in the midst of taping her episode of TV One’s ‘Unsung’ episode when she passed away. There will be a special dedicated to the late songstress airing on January 2, 2012 and will feature interviews with Young, Vivica Fox and Vesta herself.
During her music career, Williams had six top 10 hits on the Billboard R&B chart, including “Special” and “Congratulations.”
