Producer/songwriter Rico Love has had a stellar year filled with #1 hits and hopes to continue that well into 2012. Fans can expect to hear more from Rico in the upcoming year with music from Adam Lambert, Sean Paul, Q-Tip, as well as his own Division1 Entertainment artists Teairra Mari, Young Chris, and Cherlise. Aside from that, Rico has also been in the studio producing for the Queen of Hip-Hop/Soul, Mary J. Blige, on her follow-up project, ‘My Life 2: Act 2’ slated to release in May.
“2011 was an amazing year for me,” states Rico Love. “For 2012 it’s my goal to keep the #1 hits coming.”
Not only was Rico named SESAC’s 2011 Songwriter of the Year, but he’s also made it into Billboard’s Year End Review as one of the “Top R&B/Hip-Hop Song Producers” for 2011, alongside Kanye West, Mario Winans, Chuck Harmony, and Salaam Remi. Needless to say, Rico’s definitely in good company.
In 2011, Rico saw hits with Kelly Rowland, David Guetta, and Romeo Santos. Rico wrote and produced Kelly Rowland’s hit single “Motivation” featuring Lil Wayne, which spent 7 weeks at #1 on the Billboard R&B charts, and helped her album ‘Here I Am’ debut at #3 on the Billboard Top 200 in its first week of sales.
Meanwhile, David Guetta & Usher’s “Without You” was #1 on Billboard Pop Songs chart and peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
And then lastly, Rico Love’s first Latin single, “Promise” by Romeo Santos featuring Usher, has been on top of the Billboard Hot Latin Songs, Latin Pop and Tropical charts since its release 13 weeks ago.
Congrats to Rico Love for ending off a successful year with a bang!
