This may be one of the strangest lawsuits ever. Veteran R&B/soul singer Patti LaBelle is facing legal action after she allegedly yelled at a child’s mother for neglecting her 18 month old toddler.
Couple Kevin and Roseanna Monk, whose daughter was playing around the lobby of their Riverside Boulevard apartment building, filed the suit in Manhattan Supreme Court. Patti, who was a guest tenant in their building, allegedly walked in and said: “What are you doing letting your kid run around like that.”
According to the NY Post, the suit claims Patti began “screaming at my client, throwing water from a bottle at the mother’s face and the baby’s face.” Kevin then asked Patti: “Are you happy that this is what you done to this baby?!”
Kevin also adds that Ms. LaBelle tried “to take a swing” at him. Following the incident the couple decided to file the suit after learning about another incident in Houston in which LaBelle’s hairdresser and a bodyguard were accused of assaulting a West Point cadet.
