It took her awhile to confirm but Michael Jackson’s sister La Toya Jackson has been added to the list of performers for the upcoming tribute concert in Cardiff, Wales on October 8th. La Toya has been in retirement for almost 20 years but decided this is one of those magical moments that’s worth returning to music.
“I have put musical performance behind me for roughly two decades, but there will never be another magical moment such as this to celebrate Michael with his fans to perpetuate the importance of his legacy,” says La Toya in a statement. “I am honored to share the stage with the incredible performers in this line up and am certain that nothing would make my brother smile bigger or brighter than this tribute concert. In speaking with my mother yesterday, I asked her where she thinks Michael would rather have us be, in this courtroom filled with negativity and lies or on a stage celebrating his music, his legacy and his life and she said without a second of thought, ‘Celebrating his Life with family and fans. I am looking forward to putting on a great show and making my brother proud.'”
La Toya will join other A-list talents on the bill including, Gladys Knight, Alien Ant Farm, Jackson Brothers: Tito, Marlon, and Jackie, Alexandra Burke, JLS, Diversity, Pixie Lott as well as the next generation of Jacksons, the international multi-platinum artists, 3T. Beyonce, 16 time Grammy Award winning recording artist, will perform via satellite.
Michael Forever is a heart-warming show created to honor Michael as a musical icon that will forever be loved, admired and remembered!
La Toya is known for the hit singles Heart Don’t Lie, Billboard Hot 100 #56 and “Just Wanna Dance” reaching #13 on the US Billboard Hot Dance chart. A true renaissance woman, Jackson has emerged as a successful entertainer, Grammy nominated writer, best-selling author, entrepreneur, television star and international icon.
