Grammy-winning singer Janet Jackson continues to make groundbreaking career moves. The iconic entertainer will be the first female Pop/R&B artist to perform under the iconic I.M. Pei glass pyramid at Paris’ Louvre Museum.
Jackson, a global superstar that has sold over 100 million records worldwide, will perform in conjunction with the museum’s biannual fundraising event, “Liaisons au Louvre,” on Tuesday, June 14.
“The Louvre and its stunning glass Pyramid are equaled only by the priceless treasures that are housed within its impressive walls,” Jackson says in a statement. “It is an honor to be asked to participate in such an incredible evening at this historic location. âLiaisons au Louvre’ will be an unequaled event, raising much needed funds for this institution and the preservation of art that moves the soul.”
“Liaisons au Louvre” was created by Becca Cason Thrash, and in its inaugural event raised $2.7 million in June 2008.
Congrats to Ms. Jackson!
