Family Business Atmosphere ⦠“Everybody’s my favorite because they’re all my homies. Everybody I’ve worked with is actually a friend of mine, so it’s not just like going into the studio and doing some work. It’s actually like we hang out and we actually know each other. Working with Jeezy, working with Plies, Marsha, working with Monica, T-Pain, whoever it is, it’s like family. It’s like working with my momma. You know what I’m saying? That’s how I look at it.”
Today’s Studio Grind⦠“Right now, I’m working on the ‘Clash of the Titans project.’ I’m working on a couple of my own projects. I’m working on Jeezy’s ‘TM103,’ working with Gucci Mane, everything. Working on Plies, on Waka Flocka, & we did a song with Mary J. Blige. It’s so much stuff going on, it’s hard to keep up.”
Mary J. Blige New Album⦠“Well, I was in New York and I had a session set up. I was working with Jerry Wonda, who was one of the bass players for the Fugees. He’s just a crazy producer. Very well known producer and has crazy bass lines. And I was working with him and he started playing his bassline, and I was like “Yo that’s crazy!” and I just came up with this beat. We just made this beat right there on the spot. Next thing you know, Johnta Austin walks in the building, a friend of mine, and he wrote the record. Then “Rock With You” is what came next. Mary’s been opening a couple of her shows performing the joint. So stay tuned, definitely.”
Working with Marsha Ambrosius⦠“Basically her title is “I Wanna F#*k.” She let it be known that this is what it is. “I wanna f#*k.. I wanna f#*k” so we have a clean version called “I Wanna Touch” so stay tuned. Marsha’s just laying it down how she like it in a real smooth joint, so check that song out.”
Writing with Raheem DeVaughn⦠“We did a couple of records, as far as hooks, for Plies and a couple of other artists, as well as projects of his own. We did one song called “Murder That.” We’re working on a couple of other songs too. Nothing final, but you know, we working.”
