R&B crooner Maxwell and singer/rapper Cee-Lo Green has been tapped by VH1 to appear on their 15th anniversary season of ‘VH1 Storytellers.’
Since its inception in 1996, VH1 has showcased the inspiring life stories of music’s most deserving artists in the original series. The artists are filmed in front of an audience in which they perform and reveal intimate details about their life and their creative process. This year marks the 15th anniversary of the music special that in the past has featured artists like Kanye West, Mary J. Blige, Jay-Z, and many more.
“With this new season we want to go back to the original idea of great singer/songwriters who you don’t see on TV very often talking to a small audience about their inspirations â where the songs come from,” said Bill Flanagan, Executive Producer.
Other artists and bands that will share their personal anecdotes and musing during this season include Death Cab For Cutie, My Morning Jacket, Kings of Leon, and Ray LaMontagne.
What makes this such an anticipated season is that VH1 has worked to ensure that they give audiences artists that are not afraid to expose the most intimate details of their lives.
Rock sensation, Kings of Leon will kick off the storytelling experience when the series airs this May.
