R&B singer Jennifer Hudson went back to her roots Wednesday (Jan 19) in Florida after helping Disney launch their new cruise ship.
The Grammy Award winner, who also performed at the dockside event, was discovered performing on-board a Disney Wonder cruise back in 2003, before going on to “American Idol” and winning an Academy Award for “Dreamgirls.”
Hudson was also named the godmother of the 4,000-passenger Disney Dream liner, which has been billed as the most high-tech cruise ship ever built. The ship features themed areas for children, teens and adults; interactive entertainment throughout the ship and the first “water-coaster” at sea.
The ship’s maiden voyage begins January 26, 2011.
The new, 130,000-ton ship accommodates up to 4,000 guests and features themed areas for children, teens and adults, and interactive entertainment throughout the ship, and industry firsts including the first “water-coaster” at sea.
