Leona Lewis' ex-boyfriend wants $2.25 million from the pop star after the couple went their separate ways last month.
Lewis, Who garnered international fame and notoriety after winning Simon Cowell's U.K. talent show The X Factor, allegedly broke up with her childhood sweetheart Lou Al-Chamaa after struggling to juggle their romance with her hectic work schedule.
The former couple met when they were 10 years old, when they lived on the same street in Hackney, east London.
Now a disgruntled Al-Chamma , who was handed a job with record label Sony BMG as a talent scout based on Leona’s success, wants a huge settlement for aiding the her rise to superstardom, reports Britain's The Sun.
According to the publication, Lewis reportedly offered his their $900,000 London Home, but Al-Chamma wants cash also.
A source tells the newspaper, "He believes he has played a huge role in Leona's success. They have been together for more than ten years and he has encouraged her to fulfill her potential. He believes he has the rights of a common-law husband.”
"He even filled in her X Factor application form and believes he then played a huge role in her success... He claims he owns a piece of some of her songs and should benefit financially.”
"She has offered him their house in Hackney but he insists that is not enough. It looks like it could get messy."
Leona and Lou's split last month was said to be amicable but I guess that wasn’t so.
After Leona became famous, trainee electrician Lou was handed a job with record label Sony BMG as a talent scout and he now travels the world, spending much of his time in Los Angeles and Miami.
