Bei Major Inks Deal With Jive Records

Singer/songwriter/producer Bei Maejor is ready to step up to the mic with Jive Records. Noted for contributions to Trey Songz’ “Black Roses,” Letoya’s “Not Anymore,” and Plies’ new single “She Got It Made,” Maejor is poised to release his solo debut with Jive in the near future. “Bei Maejor is one of the most promising young talents in urban music today, and we are pleased to be able to welcome him to Jive Records,” Peter Thea, Executive Vice President, JIVE Label Group said in a statement Tuesday, March 23. “We are all thrilled to be able to work with someone you’ll be hearing much more from in the future.” Management for Bei Maejor, Chase Entertainment’s Rocco Valdes adds: “Bei Maejor is just a superstar. There is no better choice of words to describe him. Jive is the perfect label for him. They’ve built some of the biggest names in music and it’s because they have the best staff. There is nothing but stars in that building.” Born in Southfield, MI, Bei Maejor graduated from the University of Michigan, and counts as his eclectic musical influences Stevie Wonder, Timbaland, Max Martin, Dr. Luke, Diane Warren, Ne-Yo, T-Pain and The Fray. Starting to record beats and produce at the age of 16, he calls his sound “kids playing on drums and synthesizers in a South American rainforest.” “I’m so excited to be working with the Jive family. They have created huge stars and legends. I hope and pray that I’m next,” says Maejor. Bei Maejor got his big break with Trey Songz, contributing “Ur Behind,”, to his debut 2005 album, I Gotta Make It. He’s also worked with the likes of T-Pain, Flo Rida, Sean Kingston, Jazmine Sullivan, Mary J. Blige, Plies, Chingy, Ginuwine, Bun B, Birdman, Yung Joc and Monica. His current studio projects include Soulja Boy, Keri Hilson, Ne-Yo and T.I. as well as his own debut album. “I just try to make the best music I can,” he says. “I believe that everything works according to a divine order and timing. I create music because I love it.”
