Maxwell, Keri Hilson Lead NAACP Image Award Winners

Maxwell and Keri Hilson walked away with top honors at Friday’s 41st Annual NAACP Image Awards, airing Live! on FOX. Picking up awards stemming from “Blacksummers’night” and “In A Perfect World, Maxwell and Hilson are joined by fellow music award winners The Black Eyed Peas, Mary Mary, Bebe and Cece Winans, Mary J Blige, and Whitney Houston. Maxwell, earning an award for Outstanding Male Artist, thanked fans for support during his acceptance speech amidst a standing ovation from the crowd and cheers from fans in the audience. Keri Hilson, picking up one of the first first awards of the night, walked away with Outstanding New Artist after performing “Guantanamera” with Wyclef Jean and Carlos Santana. Mary J. Blige ended the night with two trophies. While not present, Blige won awards for Outstanding Album and Outstanding Female Artist. (see full music related winners list below). In addition to the awards, the 41st Annual NAACP Image Awards featured performances from John Legend, The Roots, and Jill Scott. The 41st Annual NAACP Image Awards were hosted by Anika Noni Rose and Hill Harper, airing on FOX from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
