The battle is still on for the best selling album of 2009! According to sources, the race remains too close to call with two of the year’s most surprising entertainers, Susan Boyle and Taylor Swift, each vying for the title with sales in excess of 3 million copies. Boyle, whose album “I Dreamed A Dream” is perhaps the year’s most surprising success story, is within 175,000 copies of surpassing Swift’s already 3X Platinum album “Fearless”. Considering Boyle has held down the no.1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart for at least five weeks, with sales in excess of 500,000 copies each week, it seems plausible that Swift will be defeated. According to projections released Thursday, the final tally will be quite close, with Boyle’s “Dream” expected to sell at least 150,000 copies. Regardless of the final tally, Boyle ends 2009 on top, as “Dream” is the only album that will sell over 100,000 copies in the final week, which closes Jan. 3. Final numbers will be released Wednesday.
