Grammy-nominated R&B singer Joe, now known as Joe Thomas, made a fatal error on Tom Joyner’s Morning Show during 2008s historic Presidential Election when he decided to air his point of view on voting — the problem was he had no voting experience ! According to Joyner’s popular morning show, Joe admitted he is not registered to vote and apparently had never voted in his life — strike 1! While ‘strike 1′ was enough for the interview to come to a close, especially when were talking about a nation in crisis, the “ER” singer went on to prove that he was more interested in playing his new song than hearing about Barack Obama or the election. Reportedly unaware of when the election was taking place and how the voting process worked, Joe said he didn’t have to vote because he heard somewhere that Obama had it all wrapped up ! Radio personality Truitt O’Neal, who has offered audio to the interview, was disturbed by Joe’s attitude: “He seemed to be more concerned with rockin’ tracks from his brand new CD.” Joe eventually registered in his home state of New Jersey after being pressured by Tom Joyner to get out there and vote. The question is Joe…. why would you need to be pressured to do something as simple as registering to vote ? On a bright note however, Joe did release a new album in 2008 following a lawsuit against his former label Jive Records and a battle with his former labelmate R. Kelly. In an interview with Singersroom towards the end of the year Joe said “Iâm on a new label which is half the excitement and Iâm happy to be coming out with my seventh album.” Joe is expected to release his eighth album mid-late 2009.
