Hip Hop veteran Q-Tip is gearing up for the release of his long-awaited second solo album entitled âThe Renaissanceâ and heâs brought along DâAngelo and Raphael Saadiq for the album full of summer jams, club bangers and introspective songs. According to the Los Angeles Times, the A Tribe Called Quest frontman feels that the time is right for his new album, his first since 1999’s âAmplifiedâ which spawned the hit singles âVivrant Thingâ and âBreath & Stop.â âI had to wait until the time was right. If I put it out a couple of years ago, it wouldnât have been right. But now you have people like Santogold, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Common. It seems like itâs a bit more in tune with what Iâm doing,â Q-Tip tells the Los Angeles Times on the albumâs constant setbacks. R&B singerâs DâAngelo and Raphael Saadiq have already collaborated with the Hip Hop star who also says he has worked with Grammy Award – winning singer Norah Jones on a song called âLife Is Better.â In addition to âThe Renaissanceâ the Harlem-born MC looks forward to release his âKamaal The Abstractâ album later this year which was previously shelved by Arista in 2002.
