Trey Songz is growing when it comes to his acting career, moving from one area, or genre, to another. Speaking of his growth in Hollywood and getting his feet wet in the recently released romantic comedy, "Baggage Claim," the "Neighbors Know My Name" singer said it gave him a chance to express his talent and grow as well.
Fox Searchlight's "Baggage Claim" debuted within the top four at this weekend's box office. Based on the book written by David E. Talbert, "Baggage Claim" arrived at no.4 with $9.7 million in receipts. Broken down, that includes Friday earnings of $3.2 million and a Saturday total of $3.9 million.
David E. Talbert's big screen adaptation of his best-selling novel, "Baggage Claim," is coming sooner than originally believed. According to Fox Searchlight, "Baggage Claim" has been moved up a month, slated for an opening in theaters September 27, 2013.
Despite starring in what is now the number one movie in the country, "Texas Chainsaw 3D," Trey Songz is in no rush to leave music for Hollywood. According to Songz, acting is something he would rather take his time with, moving gradually rather than throwing music away for a chance to become the next Will Smith.
