Michelle hasn’t had the best relationship with radio shows as of late. A few weeks ago, she bantered back and forth with “Breakfast Club” host Angela Yee, (which allegedly resulted in them puling her music from airplay), so now you may want to purchase all three of K. Michelle’s albums to hear her music, because you may not hear any on the radio any time soon…
Yesterday morning (March 29), K. Michelle visited Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club to promote her new album More Issues Than Vogue, her VH1 show “My Life”, and to address many other rumors she just can’t seem to shake.
The video features K. Michelle walking, bathing, and even drinking Jack Daniels in the rain as she reflects on her bad relationship. But soon, she steps out of the rain into a sunnier, new phase in life, allowing the rain to follows her ex instead.
Like always, K. Michelle keeps it 1000 on this track that addresses the heartbreak she feels over past relationships…and when I say past relationships, I mean Michelle’s REAL exes. On the song, she laments about not being able to find someone to give her genuine love, mentioning her exes Memphitz and Idris Elba in the process.
Now in a recent interview with HuffPost, Michelle is expounding on her feelings, saying its discouraging when her soulful style of singing is overlooked but praised and promoted when it’s a white artist singing the same type of song.
Her previous releases “Not A Little Bit” and “Ain’t You” both deal with post-relationship stresses, and her newest release “Time” is no different. On the old-school soul record, Michelle joyfully pats herself on the back for leaving a bad relationship.
Michelle sure has been rapping a lot lately! She recently took on Yo Gotti’s “Down In The DM,” then she was back to singing (a little more) on “Ain’t You,” now she’s back with another track from More Issues Than Vogue: the T-Pain-assisted shortie, “Mindful.”
